The Journal of International Commercial Law and Technology (JICLT) is committed to publishing high-quality, original, and ethical research in the fields of international commercial law and technology. These editorial guidelines outline the responsibilities, procedures, and standards for all members of the editorial board
These guidelines are intended to:
Maintain editorial integrity and independence.
Ensure fair and transparent decision-making.
Align with international publishing ethics and COPE principles.
Provide a consistent workflow for manuscript handling.
Oversees overall editorial policy and journal strategy.
Makes the final decision on all manuscript acceptances or rejections.
Ensures compliance with ethical standards and publishing best practices.
Coordinates daily operations, including submission tracking, peer review management, and correspondence with authors and reviewers.
Ensures timely communication and issue production.
Manage manuscripts in their area of expertise.
Select and invite suitable peer reviewers.
Recommend decisions based on reviewer feedback.
Provides strategic guidance on journal direction.
Assists with special issues, thematic sections, and outreach.
Verify that the manuscript meets scope, formatting, and ethical requirements (plagiarism <15%, declared conflicts of interest).
Incomplete or out-of-scope submissions are returned without review.
Manuscript is assigned to an Associate Editor with relevant expertise.
Select at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the subject area.
Avoid reviewers with conflicts of interest or recent collaborations with the authors.
Maintain anonymity between authors and reviewers.
Reviews are expected within 3–4 weeks.
Possible decisions include:
Accept without changes
Minor revisions required
Major revisions required
Reject
Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the handling editor and, if necessary, sent back to reviewers.
Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision.
Proofs are sent to authors for final approval.
Editors must declare any potential conflicts and recuse themselves from handling affected manuscripts.
All manuscript content, reviewer reports, and author identities are confidential.
Suspected cases are investigated according to COPE guidelines.
Sanctions may include rejection, retraction, and institutional notification.
Decisions are based solely on academic merit, without discrimination.
Address complaints and appeals promptly and transparently.
Correct errors through errata, corrigenda, or retractions when necessary.
Engage in post-publication discussion and academic debate.
Special issues must have a clear theme aligned with the journal’s scope.
Proposals should be approved by the Editor-in-Chief and Advisory Board.
Held annually (virtually or in person) to review journal performance, policy changes, and strategic direction.
Editors should keep updated on industry best practices (COPE, DOAJ, Scopus standards).
Periodically review policies to ensure compliance with international indexing requirements.
