The Journal of International Commercial Law and Technology (JICLT) is committed to promoting free and open access to scholarly research while ensuring that authors retain their intellectual property rights. This policy outlines the copyright terms and licensing conditions for works published in the journal.

1. Author Copyright Retention

  • Authors retain the copyright of their work upon publication.

  • Authors grant the Journal of International Commercial Law and Technology (JICLT) a non-exclusive, perpetual license to publish, reproduce, distribute, and archive the work in print, electronic, and digital formats, including third-party indexing and archiving services.

2. Licensing

  • All published articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0) unless otherwise stated.

  • Under this license, others may:

    • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

    • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

    • Conditions — appropriate credit must be given to the author(s) and the journal, along with a link to the license, and indication if changes were made.

3. Author Warranties

By submitting a manuscript, authors warrant that:

  • The work is original and does not infringe any copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, or other proprietary rights.

  • The work has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere, unless stated and agreed upon.

  • All necessary permissions for the use of copyrighted material (e.g., figures, tables, images) have been obtained from the copyright holder.

4. Third-Party Content

  • Authors must acknowledge and cite all third-party material used in their work.

  • Any material (images, figures, tables) reproduced from other sources must include a statement of permission and proper attribution in the article.

5. Self-Archiving Policy

(Green Open Access)

  • Authors are permitted to deposit pre-print, accepted manuscript, and published version of their articles in institutional or subject repositories, personal websites, or other academic platforms, provided proper citation and a link to the official journal version are included.

6. Republishing and Distribution

  • Authors may republish their work in books, edited volumes, or other publications, provided that the original publication in JICLT is acknowledged.

  • No special permission is required for academic or educational use, as long as the original source is credited.

7. Breach of Copyright

  • Any copyright infringement detected before or after publication may result in retraction of the article and possible notification to the author’s institution and funding bodies.
